Shadow and light dance on the boardwalk that goes through the Four Mile Cove Ecological Park along the Caloosahatchee River in Cape Coral, Florida. The boardwalk invites you into the dark mangrove forest. The feeling of canopied branches blocks the light from illuminating everything and just lets snippets into the environment. There is a depth in the mangrove forest with its density of flora and fauna in greens, cool with blues or warm with reds, on either side of the boardwalk, drawing you deeper down the path. Warm light hits the leaves in a filtered fashion the same way the shadows on the boardwalk manifest their shapes. Cool blues on the light gray boardwalk place branches and leaves in shadow form against the warm light splashes of warm pinks and yellows. You can wander this path for hours and feel completely satisfied with its conveyance of natural detail.
